TOKYO NEIGHBORHOODS: Jiyugaoka



Best known for being dog-friendly, Jiyugaoka is one of the Tokyo neighborhoods with the usual narrow streets from which thriving commercial centers emerged around a metro station. Given the usual postmodern Japanese make-over, it has become not only a fashionable residential enclave for the young but, with its wide main road converted into a park-like shopping promenade, it has spawned a trendy shopping district.

A good model  for established commercial centers around a metro station in Manila like Anonas, Roosevelt, Boni, Kamias, Pureza, etc.
